In 2001, a subsidiary of Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT) and a spin-off of its School of IT (SOIT), Mapua Information Technology Center (MITC), was established in the old RCBC Building in Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue.

MITC has three (3) business centers – Associate Degree (AD, Java Business Resource Center (JBRC) and Technology Oriented Programs (TOP).

The vision for AD is to produce vendor (Java, Cisco, Oracle etc) certified graduates who are ready for employment after two years. Graduates also have an option to pursue bachelor’s degree in SOIT through MITC’s ladderized program.

JBRC is established to hone the Java skills of MITC graduating students through exposure to real Java projects.

TOP is the training arm of the Yuchengco Group of Companies (YGC).

In 2011, a change in business model  was established to have MITC concentrate on corporate and professional trainings through short programs and certificate courses.  Currently , MITC is the preferred training partner of companies in the industries of Telecomunications, BPOs, Service Industries, Banking and Insurance as well as professionals who would want to improve their technical and communication skills.

In 2016, E-Learning was conceived to be able to offer courses accessed online. MITC will also venture into publishing technology textbooks for Grades 7 to 12 through a partner.
